Stop and Smell the Roses

It is another beautiful day in paradise!  No matter what your day looks like or what is going on in your life, taking a moment to stop and smell the roses, literally or  figuratively is always a good idea.

I was coming home from my walk today, taking a different path and before me there were three beautiful roses.  I was so surprised to still see roses that I literally stopped, leaned down and smelled the sweet fragrance of a home-grown rose.  Perhaps that is not possible where you are, certainly there are other ‘roses’ out there just waiting to be discovered.  A moment spent soaking in nature is a tonic for your soul.  No matter where you are, any given day you can always take a moment to notice the beauty of the world around you.

I challenge you to take a few minutes each day to step outside and breathe in nature.  Stop and smell a rose, stand barefoot on the grass, lean up against the trunk of a tree, perhaps watch a bird in flight.  Take the time to just be, in whatever way is realistic for you.  If you already are out in nature every day, up the ante, spend more time or make an effort to be conscious and connect while you are there.  You don’t have to live next to a nature preserve to interact with nature  Get creative, look around you and commune in some way.  Pay attention to how this affects you.  Being in nature is a wonderful way to reach calm center, get grounded, release stress, recharge and invite in peace and harmony.

May you have a wonder-ful day.  I would love to hear about your adventures in the world.
